October 10,2010 readings

Ruth 1:(1-7),8-19a
Psalm 113
2Timothy 2:(3-7)8-15
Luke 17:11-19

Even if we don't celebrate mass together on this date please try and read our lessons on this particular Sunday.
Our Gospel continually calls us through the love of Jesus Christ to give Praise and Thanks to the Lord God who cleanse us in our sinful ways. The cleansing/curing of the ten lepers gives us a message of hope that Jesus in such a marvelous way heals us whenever we pray "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us." It is a powerful prayer. Unfortunately, after being healed only 1 cured leper came back to give praise and thanksgiving to our Lord. Let us not forget to give thanks and praise to God wherever we are and whatever time of the day.
Let us pray: Lord, we pray that your grace may always precede and follow us, that we may continually be given to good works; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen (BCP,235)
